![]() ![]() Ripe territory for Quantic Dream to come up with all-new worlds, races and problems that won't mess with existing continuity and canon too much. The official Eclipse site mentions that at least part of the game is set in the Outer Rim, the largely uncharted part of the galaxy where anything goes. Of course, you know what they say about pride and falls they land you in the garbage compactor of history. A golden age where everything in the galaxy seemed (relatively) idyllic, the Jedi were in control and nobody was particularly worried about the Sith anymore. The two hundred years or so before Emperor Palpatine went and ruined everything. ![]() As of February 2022, there were 59 vacancies in Paris and 4 in Montreal.Ī long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, of course. At the time of his Twitter post in December 2021, he pointed out that Quantic Dream had over 60 job openings at its Paris studio and 9 in Montreal. Henderson also claims Eclipse is three to four years away from release at minimum. #Star wars eclipse xbox one fullWhile any unsourced claims should be taken with a pinch of salt, prolific industry leaker and freelance games journalist Tom Henderson claimed to have an inside line on Eclipse's production, and shared a few tidbits via Twitter, including mention that the game will run on Quantic Dream's own in-house engine.Īmong the revelations is that the game is more ambitious than your average Quantic Dream interactive movie, and angling to be a full open-world game. Some reckon that it might be multiple years until the game sees the light of day. At the Game Awards the project was described as being in "early development," which for a heavily story-driven game of this size usually means being at least a couple years from release. As impressive as the trailer was, it seems more of a tone piece than anything representing the final game. Shrouded in mystery, this release date is. ![]() When is Star Wars Eclipse's release date? Expectations swiftly plummeted with the appearance of the Quantic Dream logo-the developers of the wonky Detroit: Become Human, and a studio mired in deep controversy and with a patchy track record despite a flair for the cinematic. The trailer mentions “early development,” and neglects to say anything about platforms or even a release year, so we’ll see.For a heady two minutes and thirty-seven seconds, hopes were high. From the look of it, Star Wars Eclipse is far off. I’m curious to see how this game will come together as something a bit different for Star Wars and as a very high-profile IP for these developers to work on. In other circumstances, I’d be more into this - I was on board with the footage, at least as far as CG trailers go - but there’s the matter of Quantic Dream as a studio grappling with reports of workplace toxicity, which complicates things. The pitch for this far-off game is that characters will have “their own story, abilities, and role to play in the tapestry of events that could alter the carefully balanced peace of the Outer Rim.” The officiate site sums up Star Wars Eclipse as an “action-adventure, multiple-character branching narrative game,” which is Quantic Dream’s bread and butter. #Star wars eclipse xbox one crackYep, the studio behind Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human is taking a crack at the Star Wars universe - specifically the High Republic era, which has a lot of untapped potential. That name won’t ring a bell yet, but the studio behind it sure will: this is a Quantic Dream production, for better or worse. ![]() One of many CG teasers shown at the 2021 Game Awards had me hoping for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 - it’s only a matter of time! - but instead, it was all just a bunch of cool imagery building up to Star Wars Eclipse. The cinematic trailer looks great, but there’s so much to prove ![]()
